Director Vital to the intricacies of running the Georgia home Furnishings Association (GhFA), is Valori Harris' role as Executive Director. As the newest staff addition to the GhFA family, Valori has already insured that GhFA is stepping toward the future on the right foot. Currently, Valori is renovating the organization's website to provide members with a trusted, up-to-date resource that will offer the information and connections they need when they need it. Coupled with her dynamic leadership and communication skills, Valori's entrepreneurial spirit and creativity will go far with GhFA. As evident in the work she has already accomplished in her short tenure with the organization, Valori embraces challenge and change while keeping a discerning eye open for detail and members' needs. With a flare for future, Valori promises to keep GhFA members connected to all the very best benefits and opportunities available. Prior to her position as Executive Director for the GhFA, Valori worked for 5 years in the home furnishings industry with a prominent southeastern, southwestern retailer. Her heart has always been with the non-profit community, which is evident through her various efforts with the March of Dimes, City of Hope, the American Cancer Society, and the Atlanta Humane Society. Personally, Valori looks forward to visits with her family, which remains near and just south of the Atlanta area. Her college years were spent at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she was active with collegiate cheerleading. During her college years, Valori continued to work very closely with the Atlanta Olympics, where she served as "IZZY" for the of events prior to and during the 1996 Olympic games. Later, she graduated with triple degrees in History, Technology and Society (1997), Secondary Education (1997), and Management (1999). When she isn't busy getting GhFA members connected, she enjoys spending time with her husband Jon, little girl Emma Grace, dog-Josie, friends, cooking, supporting Georgia Tech football & basketball, church activities and camping. |
